Granules: Law’s High N (12%N)
This is a granular plant extract of nitrogen, a plant nutrient vital for growth, cell division and leaf quality. Each granule also contains important secondary nutrients including potash, phosphate, manganese and copper.
All nitrogen is available within three months of application. Recent research has shown that Law’s High N has a significant impact on soil ecology by increasing the inoculation of the root system with Mycorrhizal fungi, which then aids water and nutrient uptake.
Granules: Law’s High P (15%P)
Law’s High P (15%P) is a granular, calcined mineral that provides slow release of phosphate over the growing season. There are also important secondary nutrients including 7.4% calcium and 7.6% iron as well as zinc, manganese and copper. Phosphate is vital for root growth and plant establishment.
Law’s High P is more efficient than Triple Super Phosphate (TSP) due to its gradual release that matches crop uptake. It is also more readily available to the crop than rock phosphate which is not available unless soils are very acid. Law’s High P is citric soluble and available for plant uptake in all pHs. The natural phosphate ions, together with their slow release, increases the efficiency of use by three times that of synthetic water soluble phosphate such as TSP. So if a crop needs 90 units of phosphate as TSP, it would need only 30 units of Law’s High P.
Granules: Law’s High K (26%K)
Law’s High K (26%K) is a granular, plant extract that supplies 100% water soluble potash. Each granule contains 26% potash including 15% sulphur as well as a range of trace elements. Potash is vital for crop yield and quality and is usually the crop nutrient required in the greatest amount compared with other major nutrients. Potash is also vital for flowering, colour, sugar formation and water balance.
Law’s High K does not contain chlorine, unlike synthetic sources of potash. Chlorine interferes with nitrogen uptake and has been said to adversely impact on the microbial health of the soil. The potash in Law’s High K is much more readily available to the crop than rock potash which is not water soluble.
Granules: Law’s Calcium (18% Ca)
Law’s Calcium granules provide a unique and natural source of calcium, together with trace elements and 11% sulphur. Calcium is essential for root growth and helps maintain crop quality by strengthening cell walls. This also improves fungal and disease resistance and gives better storage ability. Law’s High Calcium has been shown to improve uptake of trace elements and the nutritive quality of crops.
Granules: Other Trace Elements
Law Fertilisers has a wide range of soil-applied fertilisers to correct micronutrient deficiencies and can advise on deficiency by either soil or plant inspection and analysis. Soil factors can cause micronutrient deficiencies in crops. These include:
- high soil pH levels, which can have a negative effect on micronutrient availability
- high salt content, which can adversely affect micronutrient uptake
- a high CaCO3 content in the soil
- sandy or peaty soils with low micronutrient contents
- failure to add micronutrients to the soil in the wake of intensive cultivation
